How To Drive Traffic To My Website

When I went on Quora this morning I saw 43 questions of beginner bloggers asking how to drive traffic to my website. After months of writing content to your blog, you have been promised that once you build it, Visitors will come.

Unfortunately, the trouble of nobody visiting your blog is real and could kill your business immediately.

Building a solid, successful blog from scratch is not easy at all, in fact, harder than building an online store with items to sell.

And it is the main reason why most blogs get abandoned within the first three months.

To drive traffic to my website, I had to learn SEO basics and improve my social media promotions over time. It was hard at the start but once you see which methods work best.

You can scale it up.

So, what are you doing that is preventing people from visiting your blog and staying?

Here are reasons why nobody is visiting your blog and how to fix it.

You are a Beginner

That is right, you are a beginner, one to three months into your blog and expecting thousands to turn up the minute you post.

Blogging is a journey of thousand steps and the keys are consistency, hard work, and dedication.

Give it all you got; the results will amaze you.

How to fix the problem? There is no fix for this issue the only right thing to do is to write long, informative content that will answer a visitor’s question.

You are just starting the journey give it time!

Blog appearance is horrible

Did that sound harsh? Pretty sure it did. When I first started one of the main reasons, I wasn’t getting visitors to my blog was my ugly design.

Having nicely laid out bars, the main menu, and amusing colors are all reasons to make anybody stay on your blog for longer.

How to fix the problem? The moment someone visits your blog you have 5 seconds to make them stay.

Impress them with nice colors, appropriate fonts.

Have a pop-up message that will make visitors read.

Your sidebars are very important too.

In my case, the search bar is the first thing to help people find what they are looking for, then popular posts with an image next to it.  Then categories. Check out more on my home page.

Lack of marketing

Promoting your latest content or post is very important for a blog.

The reason why I said lack of marketing instead of no marketing is because many bloggers do promote their content but not efficiently and consistently.

How to fix the problem? Constant promotion is the fix, keep sharing your post across all media platforms, using the right keywords depending on the platform.

Reshare your old content too. Stay consistent and efficient.

Boring content

This is a good reason why visitors are not visiting your blog.

The truth is no one knows who you are or what your blog is. Give them a good impression.

How to fix the problem? Write a well Grammarly, long, attractive and informative content. Not only will your visitors read it, but they will stay longer on your website which will lower the bounce rate which ultimately will higher your ranking on Google Search Engine.

Remember when you are writing a post you are solving a problem if not answering a question.

Slow Website

If there is one thing that Google absolutely hates is a slow-loading website. Your website load time is so important when it comes to Google search results and rankings.

To rank on the first page of Google you are looking at a loading speed time of no more than 0.6 seconds for desktop and 1 second maximum for mobile users.

When people press on your links they will usually wait around 4 seconds before they click off. So make sure your website is whin these measues.

An unfriendly mobile site

Nowadays most of us have access to mobile phones more than a computer or a laptop.

Google said that 61% of its users won’t go back to a mobile site that they had trouble accessing, and 40% will go to a competing site instead. Having a mobile-friendly site is a must for attracting visitors.

How to fix the problem? Use a mobile-friendly theme and double-check how everything looks on a mobile device.

And finally, I hope that answered your question on how to drive traffic to my website. Fixing some of these issues is not hard at all.

The problem has all been discussed and addressed for you to go and fix.
